Take a photo of a page or upload a screenshot. The text is read and laid out as headings, paragraphs, lists and tables for you to edit here, then downloaded as a Word document.

On a computer: drop an image here, or paste a screenshot with Ctrl+V / ⌘V.

Edit anything above before you download. AI can misread: check names and numbers against the original. To add another page, take or upload the next photo.

What it does well

Most image to Word converters were built for clean scans of printed letters. This one reads the pages students and teachers actually photograph: a worksheet on a desk at an angle, a page of handwritten notes, a screenshot of a slide. It keeps the structure (a numbered list stays numbered, a table stays a table) and it keeps symbols that ordinary text recognition drops, such as x², √, π and ½.

It is built on the same reader as the Solvecam math solver, which has to read handwritten maths exactly or the answer is wrong. If a word cannot be read it is marked [unclear] rather than guessed.

How to convert an image to Word

  1. Take a photo of the page or upload a screenshot (on a computer you can also paste one with Ctrl+V or drop the file on the box).
  2. Wait a few seconds while the text is read and laid out.
  3. Edit anything in the preview: it is a live document.
  4. Press "Download .docx" and open it in Word or any editor that reads .docx.
Getting a clean result. Fill the frame with the page, keep it flat, and avoid glare across the text. A shadow is fine; a reflection is not. One page per photo works best.

FAQ

Is Image to Word free?

Yes. 5 conversions a day with no account; the two sample images never count. Plus makes it unlimited.

What formatting is kept?

Headings, paragraphs, bulleted and numbered lists, and tables. Fonts, colours, pictures and exact positions on the page are not copied: you get clean, editable text in the right structure.

Can it read handwriting?

Yes, reasonably neat handwriting. A word it truly cannot read is written as [unclear] instead of being guessed, so search the document for that before you rely on it.

What about maths and symbols?

Equations are kept as text with the proper symbols (x², √, π, ½, ≤), so they survive the copy into Word. They are not converted into Word equation objects.

Can I convert several pages?

Yes. Convert one page at a time; each new page is added to the end of the same document, and you download it once at the end.

Are my images stored?

Not by us. The image is passed to the AI model provider that reads it (see the privacy policy), held in our server's memory only for that request, and discarded; the provider handles it under its own terms. The Word file is built in your browser, so the finished document never passes through our server.

Which files can I upload?

JPEG, PNG or WebP images up to 6 MB: phone photos, scans and screenshots. iPhone HEIC photos are converted to JPEG in the browser before upload where the browser supports it. For a PDF, take a screenshot of the page first.
